Our bookshop specializes in books and periodicals dealing with all aspects of the built environment. On our shelves you can find many titles dealing with architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, urbanism and town-planning, architectural theory, materials and technology, industrial design, and more. Our goal is to provide our visitors with a wide selection of titles from various countries, at affordable prices.
We are always glad to assist and recomend books, and welcome any question. Our visitors are encouraged to pick out titles from our shelves, grab a chair or a table at the CafeKiesler area, browse and read until they find exactly what they are looking for.

These two quotes indicate both the exceptional nature of Mutsuro Sasaki’s work and his influence on architects. What Sasaki is proposing is nothing less than an engineering revolution – an overturning of traditional empirical methods in favour of new kinds of shape analysis that use the principles of evolution and self-organisation of living creatures, adapted from an engineering standpoint, to generate rational structural shapes with a computer. The resulting architecture flows and melts in structural terms – it is 'flux structure'. This publication describes the morphogenesis of the concept of flux structure through four projects – Island City Central Park and Kakamigahara Crematorium (with Toyo Ito) and Qatar Education City Convention Centre and Florence New Station (with Arata Isozaki).

When Conzett works with architects, as he often does, the results are unconventional and unexpected in appearance. When he works alone as an engineer, he resists the overtly expressive dimension of structural engineering, focusing instead on an approach that might be characterised as innovative reticence. Structure as Space includes both categories of work in a survey of an outstanding engineer who is helping to redefine the role of structural engineering and its relation to architecture. It presents Conzett’s own elegant projects as well as structures developed in collaboration with many of Switzerland’s leading architects, including Peter Zumthor, Meili & Peter, Jüngling & Hagmann and Gion Caminada.

This is magazines standing orders
The bookshop offers a standing order service for all magazine and periodical titles available in the shop. When a new volume arrives at the shop, the requested title is sent by mail (titles can also be collected at the shop), and the cost charged via credit card. A Standing Order requires no up-front payment or long-term commitment, with charges being made only for the specific issue sent as it arrives. Orders can be cancelled at any time.
